Downey Osborne is delighted to be partnering with a leading Sales & Marketing organisation in Belfast to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant on an 11-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy finance team, gaining exposure to management reporting, financial analysis and commercial decision-making, with the potential for a permanent opportunity.

About You
Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or qualified by experience
Previous experience supporting management accounting and month-end processes
Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse and interpret financial data
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders across the business
Proactive approach with a desire to improve processes and reporting
Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced commercial environment
About Your New Role
Always
Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, journals and balance sheet reconciliations
Analyse financial performance and investigate variances against budget and forecast
Support budgeting, forecasting and month-end reporting activities
Prepare financial reports and provide insights to support business decisions
Work closely with stakeholders across the business to support financial planning and performance
Contribute to improving financial processes, controls and reporting
Often
Assist with cashflow reporting and financial planning activities
Support audit requirements and provide information for external stakeholders
Contribute to ad hoc financial analysis and business performance reviews
Assist with the development of reporting tools and KPI dashboards
Occasionally
Support wider finance projects and system improvement initiatives
Assist with process documentation and implementation of new reporting procedures
Provide cover and support across the finance function when required
Never
• Be responsible for watering the CEO’s emotional support cactus.
• Work in isolation without support from the wider finance team
