Group Financial Accountant - Belfast - £42,000 - £48,000

We have an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified accountant to join a growing finance team based in Belfast. This role is perfect for someone eager to take the next step in their career, with a broad range of responsibilities that will keep your workload varied and engaging.

About You:

  • Recently qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) looking for the next step in your career

  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills with great attention to detail

  • Proficient in using financial software packages

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial matters to non-specialists

  • Experience in preparing and submitting financial reports and working with multi-currency accounts

About Your New Role:

Always:

  • Preparing and analysing high-quality financial information for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Assisting in the preparation of inter-company invoices for cross-border transactions in line with UK and overseas tax requirements.

  • Reconciling critical balances, including multi-currency general ledger accounts for global inter-office transactions.

  • Supporting month-end group consolidation and reporting within tight deadlines.

  • Conducting regular checks on balance sheet accounts to mitigate the risk of financial misstatements. 

Often:

  • Assisting with ad hoc projects and mergers, providing analysis and support as needed.

  • Preparing key financial reports for senior management and advising on financial controls.

  • Working closely with finance teams and external advisors to ensure all processes run smoothly and efficiently.

  • Participating in technical accounting discussions and contributing to the continuous improvement of financial processes. 

Occasionally:

  • Engaging in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and enhance the control environment across the Group.

  • Preparing training materials and supporting the development of other finance team members globally.

  • Involvement in mid-year audit activities and other compliance tasks as required

Never:

  • Feeling unsupported, as you’ll be part of a collaborative and experienced team

  • Being the office spider catcher- unless you want to be
